The key objective of the Rising Star program is to encourage eligible riders to progress up to One Star level.
Eligibility
The program is open to all riders who have qualified to compete at One Star, and are competing in their first year of competition at that level. Eligibility is assessed and managed by Eventing NSW. Eligibility is assessed for the rider and not the horse.
The riders will be competing in the existing One Star events, and not in a separate dedicated class/event.
Funding
The program will receive $12,000 in funding for each of 2009 and 2010. The funding will be split equally between the clubs and the riders.
At each event, the club will receive $1,200 in funding to compensate them for costs associated with promoting the Rising Stars program.
At each event, Rising Star competitors will receive sponsorship funding of $300 (including a rug) for first, $200 for second and $100 for third. The competitors will also earn points across the year with final sponsorship money for the top 5 competitors of $1,000 (including a rug) for first, $800 (including a rug) for second, $600 (including a rug) for third, $400 (fourth) and $200 (fifth).
Eventing NSW will be responsible for collating points and calculating the final points winners.
The final awards presentation will be at the Sydney International 3DE in September 2009.

The Rising Stars program will apply at 5 events per annum:

Sponsorship
This is not a corporate sponsorship program, so we are looking to market
the program to clubs and eligible riders,not market Oakgate as a sponsoring
company.
